Responsibilities:
1.
Supports and promotes the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of the nursingdepartment.
2.
Assists in the planning and carrying out of direct care to residents based on the nursing care plan.
3.
Administers medications and treatment according to care plans and doctors' orders.
4.
Performs special nursing procedures as required.
5.
Assists in meeting the nutritional needs of the residents.
6.
Observes the residents for changes in physical, social or behavioral status and reports anddocuments signs and symptoms to the nurse in charge of the unit according to policy.
7.
Participate and attend all in service education programs as required or indicated.
8.
Use regularly scheduled unit staff meetings for problem solving and information exchange.
9.
Maintains good working relationships with all employees, visitors and residents.
10.
Follows all safety guidelines including the use of proper body mechanics at all times.
11.
All other duties as requested by the Program Director? Must be able to use both hands or use prosthetics that enable the employee to perform duties.
? Observes, evaluates and reports on care provided to residents by Certified Nursing Assistants? High School Diploma? Certificate or Diploma from an L.

Responsible for integrating and incorporating into all aspects of work performance the mission andvalues of Cabrini of Westchester as outlined by the Administration, in accordance with the standards ofthe Mission Integration Program set forth by the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart.
2.
Responsible for completion and evaluation of nursing care plan so that:
a.
Care plan is initiated, completed, signed and dated within specified time.
b.
Ongoing evaluation of care plan is completed with assistance as needed from the AdministrativeCoordinator.
c.
Current nursing interventions will be based on the care plan.
3.
Responsible for administration of medications so that:
a.
Medication is given to the appropriate resident, at the appropriate time and the appropriate dose.
b.
Medication is signed for as soon as it is given.
c.
Outcome of medication administration is noted, reported and charted.
4.
Responsible for performing general treatment and procedures so that:
a.
Treatment is provided according to the medical/nursing plan.
b.
Outcome of treatment is charted and reported.
5.
Responsible for observing the nutritional needs of residents so that:
a.
Nutritional intake is evaluatedb.
Changes in eating patterns are observed.
c.
Dietician is consulted if necessary.
6.
Responsible for providing complete physical care so that :
a.
Skin integrity is assessed and maintainedb.
Cleanliness is maintainedc.
Mobility is maintained as far as the resident is capable.
7.
Responsible for providing a safe environment so that :
a.
Safety procedures are followedb.
Unsafe conditions are reportedc.
Accidents are prevented to the extent possible and accident forms are completed on an accurateand timely basis.
