QualificationsMinimum 5 years high volume catering experience in Education/Corporate dining setting, hotels or high-end hospitality industry venues.
Minimum 3 years supervisor experience in high volume catering environment.
Directly prepare food and supervise employees in the preparation and service of catered food.
Proven experience in set-up, delivery and break down of catered events.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven attention to detail in executing and delivering to exact Client specifications.
Strong customer focus and organizational skills.
Valid driver's license may be required.
Two-year Associate's Degree in Culinary Operations preferredAbility to lift and move food, food containers and other non-food items weighing 35 pounds from floor position to no higher than one's own height.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Servsafe and Allergen Awareness certifications required.
ResponsibilitiesPlan, assist and hands on involvement in the process of cooking event related foods.
Set up and break down catered events.
Manage computer platform client uses for booking/managing events.
Oversee/monitor multiple events including breakfasts, luncheons, dinners and receptions, happy hours and campus-wide special events.
Communicate regularly with General Manager and team to offer updates on status of events for planning and execution purposes.
Accurately coordinate orders and deliveries in timely manner for set-up and breakdown.
Deliver, set-up and remove foods according to event layout and schedule.
Execute themed action tables during dining hall meal times designed to be interactive and engage with students/faculty.
Involvement in day-to-day dining hall operations when catering is not needed.
Present foods on designated platters in attractive and inviting displays.
Manage catering attendants and see to their execution of events.
Oversee their development and provide annual reviews.
Keep serving areas/tables neat, clean, organized and appropriately replenished.
Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of proper serving temperatures - follow HACCP standards.
Ready supplies for each event 24 hours in advance, whenever possible.
Take inventory of catering supplies and communicate as new stock is needed.
Represent company in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner in all client and employee interactions.
Position is expected to conduct site audits to ensure account is in compliance for 3rd party auditing.
