Park and Recreation Aide 5
Under the supervision of the Park Manager and the Maintenance Supervisor, the Park and Recreaction Aide 5 (PRA5) will:
-Perform routine and semi-skilled grounds keeping and maintenance. -Complete grounds keeping including, mowing, line trimming, and landscaping. -Complete equipment maintenance and operation of trucks, wood chippers, and other power equipment. -Perform landscaping and maintenance on a 26-mile suburban and rustic walking, biking, and hiking trail. -Operate power driven equipment and hand tools in performance of assigned tasks. -Assist in emergency situations by applying emergency procedures and practices and working with patrons to minimize potential problems. -Perform a variety of administrative duties by assisting with inventory controls, collecting data for projects, and complete other assignments as needed. -Work closely with Friends group, the community, and vendors to assure NYS Parks' mission is met.
